by Dan Ibsen, Sail-World Europe & UK editor on 19 Sep 2014
49erFX leaders Ida Marie Baad & Marie Thusgaard Olsen from Denmark - ISAF Sailing World Championships 2014 SW
The seventh day of racing at the ISAF Sailing Worlds in Santander showed in several races some sailors with very strong performances, some sailors won all their races on the course.

Among those were Ida Marie Baad and Marie Thusgaard in the 49erFX. Until now they have had a very successful season winning both the European Championship and the Youth Worlds in the Class, and in 2013 they also won the Europeans. At the moment they are second at the ISAF World Rankings in 49erFX.

Sail-World caught up with them in the Danish Team tent after came ashore winning both races, the last one very convincingly, close to two minutes ahead of the next boat.

The 49er FX will continue racing today and it is very close among the top teams. The Danes are 3 point ahead of Dobson/Ainsworth GBR, with two points to Grael/Kunze BRA.

Two more days of racing for the 49erFX class, before the medal race on Sunday. Will be interesting to see if the Danes will be able to Crown this season by also winning the Worlds.
