After a challenging start to the day due to high winds, the 29er International fleet hit the water at the Vilamoura Youth Worlds. Conditions were tough, with gusts and shifting winds testing sailors' skills, teamwork, and resilience.

The female 29er crews finally got on the water, seizing the opportunity to race after yesterday's postponement. Only seven of the 22 boats managed to finish the sole race, navigating the swirling winds with focus and determination. Great Britain's Lila Edwards and Amelie Hiscocks claimed victory, showcasing precision and composure in demanding conditions.

Italy's Bianca Marchesini and Lucia Finato followed in second, while Poland's reigning world and European champions Antonina Puchowska and Alicja Dampc completed the podium.

Meanwhile, the male/mixed 29er races were once again postponed, leaving the standings unchanged from the previous day. Despite the delay, the men's fleet remains eager to return to the water and continue the competition.

Looking ahead, tomorrow the male fleet is scheduled to start at 10:00, with the female crews following at 13:00, as sailors hope for conditions that will allow for full and fair racing.

The day highlighted both the challenge and thrill of 29er sailing, as young athletes from across the globe battled wind and waves in one of the most competitive youth sailing championships of the season. All crews are now preparing for the coming days, eager to continue the fight for victory.
