The RYA Volvo Dinghy Show 2012 is being held over the weekend of 3rd and 4th March at Alexandra Palace in London. With less than a month to go until the doors open on the 61st annual Show, there are a whole host of competitions for you to get involved in, leading up to the show and during the event itself.

Why not kick start the weekend by travelling to the show in style? Show sponsors, Volvo, are offering two families tickets to the show plus the use of a Volvo XC90 for the weekend.

As well as travelling to the event in comfort you will also be given access to the exclusive Volvo car park. Your car will be delivered to your door on Friday 2 March 2012 ready to take you to the show and will be collected on Monday 5 March.

All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is visit the Volvo Cars Sailing Facebook page and click ‘like’, it’s that simple.

For younger visitors, if you fancy winning an RS Tera dinghy, then start getting creative in the ‘Design a Sail competition’. To enter visit the event website and download the entry form. Post or email your entry, to arrive by 26 February and your design will be displayed at the show and we’ll announce the winner on Sunday 4 March.

You could also help win your club some great prizes too. Anyone buying a ticket in advance will be able to nominate their sailing club to be in with a chance of winning. The more club members that buy advance tickets, the more the prize potential in our draw…

• Bring 10 people… and your club could be in with a chance of winning Rooster race bibs.
• Bring 15 people… and your club could be in with a chance of winning a set of training marks.
• Bring 20 people… and your club could be in with a chance of winning five Volvo cars for a sailing event (subject to availability)
• Bring 30 people… and your club could be in with a chance of winning a Rigiflex safety boat complete with a Suzuki 9.9hp outboard and a trailer

Just nominate your club when you book your tickets and you could help your club win one of these great prizes.

And this is all before you even arrive at the show!!! Once inside there are even more competitions in store for you to take part in.

You could win your sailing club a brand new laptop in the Portsmouth Yardstick competition. To find out how either attend the PY talk in the Coaching Area or speak to one of the RYA's technical team in the Panorama Hall.

Why not take part in the RYA Volvo Dinghy Show SailX Championship. SailX is an amazing online virtual regatta, where you can race against sailors from all over the world. Have a go at the show and you could win yourself a wildcard entry into the Dinghy Show Championship final, sign up to take part in the preshow heats or perhaps just have a race against your friends and family ! Who knows you could be crowned champion! Find out more about SailX online.

We’ll also be officially launching our ‘Sail for Gold Good Luck Card competition’. If you’re aged between five and 16, you could win the once in-a-lifetime prize of personally wishing the British Sailing Team good luck in the lead up to the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

All you need to do is design a good luck card and you could be visiting the 2012 Sail for Gold Regatta in June, to personally deliver your card to a member of Team GBR. Come and find us in the Panorama Hall and get started on your entry.

Or maybe you’re a bit of a super sleuth and can track down the clues in the Olympic themed Treasure Hunt. Collect the clues from around the show and you could win an amazing folding bike and other goodies!
