The pace is quickening as the combined clubs' organising committee prepares for the 26th edition of the Jersey Regatta sponsored for the fifth year running by leading offshore law firm Carey Olsen (www.careyolsen.com).

Scheduled to be held from 13th to 15th September in the beautiful natural arena of St Aubin's Bay and coastal waters, this flagship event is designed to provide keen competition, fun and great camaraderie for local and visiting boats alike.

Sailors of all ages and experience will be competing in cruiser/racer, sportsboat, day boat, dinghy and sport catamaran classes. As the Island's biggest event, the Regatta will, again, see Jersey's sailors competing with their counterparts from Guernsey, France and the UK. Following a reception on the Thursday evening, racing opens on Friday morning with a round-the-Island or coastal race for the cruiser classes. The dayboat, sport catamaran and dinghy fleets come to the line that afternoon. For Saturday and Sunday, all classes are scheduled to compete in up to three back-to-back races each day.

Ever a star attraction for the IRC cruiser classes, the GBR IRC Channel Islands Championship (rorcrating.com/irc-rating/gbr-irc-racing/gbr-irc-championships), now in its 11th year, will be the showpiece with prizes kindly provided by Spinlock. This exciting championship is open to all local and visiting IRC-rated boats.

Whilst the final closing date for entries is Tuesday 10th September, 'early birds' will benefit from a reduced fee if they enter no later than Friday 23rd August. The Notice of Race, entry form and the social programme are available on the Official Notice Board on www.jerseyregatta.com. Entry fees are inclusive of hospitality bar Saturday's Regatta Party. All this, coupled with free berthing, kindly provided by Jersey Marinas (www.ports.je/jerseymarinas), makes the Carey Olsen Jersey Regatta one of the most enticing events on the regatta circuit! Why not sign up now?

Further information can be obtained by e-mailing or by calling the Regatta Office on +44 (0) 1534 732229.
