Recently, two Brunswick Corporation brands - Freedom Boat Club and Seachoice - partnered with Shake-A-Leg Miami (SALM) to make sizable donations in support of the organizations summer water camp, which empowers youth of all abilities and economic backgrounds to improve their health, education and independence in an inclusive setting.

Kevin Seelig, Freedom Boat Club of Northeast Florida co-owner and longtime supporter of SALM donated a 2021 Sweetwater 2286 Tritoon boat powered by a Mercury Marine 150HP outboard engine. Seelig has been connected to the organization since he was 10 years old initially starting out as a sponsored camper, then becoming a volunteer and ultimately an employee.

"When I first participated in my early years as a camper, my mom could only afford two weeks of camp, but I loved it so much that SALM sponsored me for the remainder of that summer. It was my first experience on the water and one that stays with me to this day," said Seelig. "I feel I am where I am because of the early start I got at SALM, so my thought was if I can give back in one way or another, let me go and do that."

Additionally, Seachoice joined in on the opportunity to support the cause by fulfilling SALM's summer wish list donating more than $25,000 of boat supplies, including 300 Seachoice life jackets, boat cleaning supplies and more to support safety on the water.

"When we learned about the opportunity to support Shake-A-Leg's efforts and help keep their campers safe on the water with brand new life jackets, we knew it was an immediate 'yes' for Seachoice to participate," said Mike Conners, president, Land 'N' Sea. "We are inspired by Shake-A-Leg's mission to expose people of all abilities and backgrounds to the water and look forward to continued opportunities to partner.

The cross-team efforts are part of Brunswick's All Blue Planet initiative, a global initiative focused on inspiring broader communities to pursue the restorative power of water through educational programming, events and collaborations. Seelig and representatives from Freedom Boat Club, Land 'N' Sea and Seachoice were onsite at SALM to interact with the campers, share their personal stories and celebrate the donations to make for an unforgettable summer on the water for SALM's 300+ campers this year.
