The country's third largest, on water boat show, Club Marine Mandurah Boat Show, has wrapped up for another year, and while the clean up is still underway, organisers say feedback indicates it was a unanimous success.

Attendance topped 20,000, which is not as high as its peak of 27,000 in 2006, but more than last year, according to marketing manager, Karen Tiedtke. 'People told us the entertainment was great and that it was a real family show, which made us very happy. That was the objective.'

The event, which ran 8-10 October, boasted more than 100 boats on the water and 650 in total. The show highlight was the $10m Sunseeker Predator 84, which attracted huge crowds each day of the show. 'The entire Sunseeker display was popular,' says Karen. 'The Predator 84 was the most expensive boat we've had at the show to date.'

Also part of the entertainment was the appearance of Miss Universe Australia, Jacinta Campbell, who took in the show from above with a helicopter trip, as well as savouring the fare of the celebrity chefs gathered for the occasion.

Other activities included watersport craft demonstrations and testing, boat testing and the Super Fishing Stage which took fishing demonstrations to a whole new level, with a massive stage technologically equipped to give the audience an awe inspiring look at various types of fishing.

For the kids, there were plenty of activities, such as face painting, bouncing castle, kayak rides, a casting competition, live Pirate Show each day, and a stash of prizes on offer.

'We had great weather for the Friday and Saturday, and then Sunday the wind and rain let us down a bit, but people still came out and enjoyed themselves,' says Karen. 'It was a fabulous show from all reports.'

Next for the Premiere Events/Roadshow Events teams is the 2010 Club Marine SA Boat & Fishing Show and 4WD Adventure Show, starting this Friday and promising the whole gamut of experiences and exhibits from the biggest names in boating, leisure goods, fishing, camping and 4WD.
