Port Macquarie’s Mid Coast Marine has been named National Dealer of the Year (‘07/’08) for Quintrex following the company’s dealer conference staged last month on the Queensland Gold Coast.

The company also named its State Dealers of the Year, Salesperson of the Year and honoured three dealerships with Sales Excellence Awards.

State Dealers of the Year were Hinterland Marine (Queensland), Hunts Marine (NSW), Russell Cairns Marine and 4 x 4 (Victoria and Tasmania), All Boat Business (Western Australia) and Pitmans Marine (South Australia and Northern Territory).

Russell Cairns, dealer principal of Russell Cairns Marine and 4 x 4. was accorded Salesperson of the Year.

Sales Excellence Awards were given to Coral Coast Marine (Queensland), Graham Barclay Marine (NSW) and East Kimberley Marine (Western Australia).

Sugar City Marine (Queensland) received the Quintrex Finance Award.

Mid Coast Marine dealer principal Rick Patterson, described winning the National Dealer honour as 'a wonderful surprise.'

'Our goal for 2007/’08 was to achieve the NSW Dealer of the Year title, so to learn we were actually the winner of the National award was a delight,' he said.

'I believe the award recognises the team’s work and the long hours we have devoted to Mid Coast Marine since my wife Mel and I took over ownership in July, 2006,' he added.

Quintrex sales and marketing manager, Damien Duncan, said it was Mid Coast Marine’s performance in a number of areas that led to the company’s appointment as National Dealer of the Year.

'Rick and Mel Patterson have made solid improvements to Mid Coast Marine, refurbishing the service centre, enhancing boat presentation standards, redeveloping the website, hiring enthusiastic staff and being creative with marketing,' Duncan added.

'The company also wins regular commendation for its high level of customer service, is heavily involved in the local Port Macquarie community, supports charities and hosts regular on-water events.

'These achievements, together with their passion and drive, made Mid Coast Marine a very worthy winner in what was a hotly contested award,' he said.

The Quintrex awards, National and State, are judged specifically on three areas; sales activity, marketing activity and, within the dealership, sales performance, marketing, website, stock presentation, workshop facilities and customer service.
