ICCA announces team for 50th International Cadet World Championships

MHYC and a busy Sydney Harbour played host to the 2015/16 International Cadet Australian Championships Lachlan Murnaghan
The ICCA is pleased to announce the Australian International Cadet Team selected to represent their country at the 50th International Cadet World Championships in Club Náutico, Albatros, Argentina from the 6 December 2016 to 4 January 2017.
After successful World Championship campaigns in the UK 2014 and Italy 2015 where the Australian Team brought home the World Championship trophy, this year’s team has been selected on overall performance at the recent Australian Championships held at the Middle Harbour Yacht Club NSW, Australia and comprises of the following young sailors:
AUS 9532 Brothers In Arms – Dominic Randall and Elliot Hughes: Royal Geelong Yacht Club, Victoria
AUS 9778 Impulse – Will Cooper and Hugo Allison: Sandy Bay Sailing Club, Tasmania
AUS 9520 Drop Bears – Charlie and William Zeeman: Sandy Bay Sailing Club, Tasmania
AUS 9430 Stolen Pig – Fynn Sprott and Lawrence Jeffs: Sandy Bay Sailing Club, Tasmania
AUS 9428 Tacktical – Alyssa and Mitchell Kelsey: Port Lincoln Yacht Club, South Australia
AUS 9562 Meltemi – Charlie Goodfellow and Toby Legg: Sandy Bay Sailing Club, Tasmania
AUS 9628 Its Pink – Isabella Declerk and Adelaide O’Donoghue: Sandy Bay Sailing Club, Tasmania
AUS 9918 Godscend – Lily Zeeman and Anabelle Zeeman: Sandy Bay Sailing Club, Tasmania
AUS 9745 Full Speed Ahead – Sam Paynter and Gil Casanova: Port Lincoln Yacht Club, South Australia
AUS 9616 Checkmate – Sophie Alexander and crew TBC: Royal Geelong Yacht Club, Victoria
Australian Coach: The ICCA have re-appointed Tony Bull (RGYC) as Australian Coach. After guiding the team to victory in both 2014 and 2015 his ability to enhance team performance and the desire for continuity in coaching style and ethos was a high priority for the ICCA.
The ICCA congratulates all team members on their selection and wishes them success at the upcoming World Championship.
