Rutland Foil Festival 2026

This weekend we proudly hosted the 3rd RSC Foiling Festival! Although Saturday's forecast looked far from ideal, it certainly didn't stop sailors from visiting the club, nor did it deter members from getting involved in racing and trying out a range of exciting foiling craft in the demos.

Saturday brought bright sunshine, although the wind remained light and patchy on the water. The youth iQFoilers (windsurfers) still made the most of the conditions, heading out together and sailing in a tight group. A couple of them even managed to lift onto the foil — albeit only briefly — but still covered several hundred metres in the process, which was fantastic to see.

There was also plenty to see ashore, with a variety of craft and equipment on display on the grass, including the club's Skeeta and Nikki, the IODA, wing foiling kit, and more.

Sunday brought a building breeze, and the fleet headed out for three back-to-back races on an additional start alongside the club racing. The long windward-leeward course created an exciting spectacle, with the foiling fleet spreading out across the water and producing some brilliant starts that were a real highlight to watch.

As the breeze filled in, members also had the opportunity to try out the IODA, Moth, Switch, and iQFoil, giving many a real taste of the thrill and variety that foiling has to offer.

Overall, it was a brilliant weekend and a wonderful celebration of foiling at the club. A huge thank you goes to everyone who helped out across the two days and made the event such a success.
