The Falmouth Classics will be held from 14th-16th June this year, and is looking to be even better than ever. 2018 drew 192 entrants to the Falmouth coast, with more varied boats than ever before, giving a spectacular display of different vessels, both large and small.

Now in its 32nd year, the Falmouth Classics began in 1987 as a small festival organised by the Mayor of Falmouth, Ron Hicks. In the early 1980s, gaffers and Falmouth Working Boats were racing regularly from Mylor and Flushing Clubs and the Cornwall Old Gaffers Association (OGA) was holding its own races. Boats were going to Dartmouth for the OGA annual area race, or crossing the Channel to the events being held in France, especially in Douarnenez. Those returning from these events were full of enthusiasm, so Ron created a place for returning race goers to celebrate. Such was the success of the event that a similar event was held the next year with 80 boats.

Join us this year for the three-day event of exhilarating racing and a spectacular Parade of Classic Boats and the Small Classic Boat Parade, and an exciting array of social activities fostering the unique camaraderie that exists among Classic Boat owners.
