Mike Wolfs confirms Canadian craze for Audi Melges 20 with new fleet

The Port Credit Yacht Club (PCYC) is well-known for producing some of the world’s greatest sailing talent, but being located 4 short miles from downtown Toronto, Canada has also fueled great fleet growth since the end of July 2010. The newly formed Canadian Audi Melges 20 fleet started with four boats and by September, were enjoying an 8-boat force.
The fleet looks to expand further in 2011 with 3, to as many as 6 more boats.
Congratulations to Rhonda Joyce as she is not only their very first Fleet Captain, but she is also the first female appointed Fleet Captain internationally in the Audi Melges 20 Class! Joyce owns CAN-170 Batteries Not Required and has thus far been instrumental in helping the fleet communicate.
PCYC had full representation at the 2011 Miami Winter Series, where Erwyn Naidoo was the best Canadian on Bohica, and expect 6 Canadian teams in March at Bacardi Miami Sailing Week! 2011 is going to be great!
