Organisers of the Sailing Grand Slam (SGS) Series and Foiling Week Series (We Are Foiling) have announced a strategic collaboration to grow the future of high-performance sailing, designed to strengthen connections across the rapidly evolving worlds of foiling sailing, windfoiling and kitefoiling

The collaboration begins with co-branded initiatives around Foiling Week Malcesine and continues throughout the remaining Sailing Grand Slam events of the season. Both organisations envisage extending the partnership to Foiling Week Pensacola in 2027 and to its additional editions as they are launched, as well as shared experiences and potential foiling demonstrations around Sailing Grand Slam events.

The two organisations are joining forces to build a more connected high-performance ecosystem, linking athletes with fans and followers, connecting events and communities, and creating new opportunities for organisers, sponsors and partners to become part of the rapidly evolving world of foiling sailing, windfoiling and kitefoiling.

Many sailors, windsurfers and kiteboarders already compete across both circuits, while fans often follow disciplines independently. By combining storytelling, athlete content and shared digital engagement, the collaboration aims to introduce Sailing Grand Slam audiences to the world of foiling and Foiling Week audiences to the broader Olympic and high-performance sailing landscape.

Sailing Grand Slam and Olympic Class Championships increasingly serve as a launchpad for the next generation of talent, connecting Olympic sailing, windfoiling and kitefoiling with the sport's highest professional stages, including SailGP and the America's Cup. Athletes, technologies and audiences increasingly move across these environments, creating stronger links between disciplines that traditionally operated separately.

"The future of our sport is not defined by isolated classes or disciplines, but by stronger connections across the entire performance ecosystem," said Ed Russo, Sailing Grand Slam Director and Event Director of Semaine Olympic de Hyères.

"Foiling has gone global. From Malcesine to Pensacola, and with new editions on the way, Foiling Week is where the disciplines meet: Olympic athletes, SailGP and America's Cup professionals, classes, builders, all in one place. Joining forces with the Sailing Grand Slam means more athletes and more fans get to see the full picture of where foiling is going." said Luca Rizzotti, founder of the We Are Foiling ecosystem and Foiling Week.

Rather than a one-off campaign, both organisations see this as a first step toward creating a more connected future for high-performance sailing.
