RHKYC Long Beach Autumn Regatta 2007 - day 2

by RHKYC on 18 Sep 2007
Bits & Pieces rounds the Hung Hom mark - RHKYC Long Beach Autumn Regatta 2007 Guy Nowell http://www.guynowell.com
After a Saturday where racing for most classes was abandoned due to a dearth of breeze in Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour (not to mention the ‘haze’), Sunday’s proceedings were a little more promising, with a 10-12 knot north-westerly allowed Race Officer Warwick Downes to fit in two races for all classes on Day 2 of the Long Beach Autumn Regatta.

With the first race of the day lasting just over an hour, the second race was designed to allow a quick finish before the forecast drop in wind stranded the boats in the Eastern approaches once again. This proved to be a popular choice with the sailors.

The early finish (and a lack of protests) allowed competitors to enjoy an early prizegiving on The Lawn at Kellett Island. The assembled participants gave an appropriate welcome to the sponsor’s representative, Mr Wilson Wong, Assistant Director of Hang Lung Properties, who presented the prizes.
