Two more races were completed today on the fourth racing day of the championship. After yesterday's well-deserved rest day—spent under the sun and by the beach—the fleet returned to the water, eager for action.
The wind arrived a bit earlier than usual but remained light, hovering just above the class limit as Race 7 got under way. Sailors described the conditions as tricky and unpredictable, with shifting wind patterns and intermittent gaps across the course. Notably, there were unexpected both left and right-hand shifts.
In these challenging conditions, Konstantinos Trigonis / Konstantinos Kazantzis claimed the bullet in Race 7, fighting back after two earlier UFD disqualifications. Estela Jentsch Steimer / Avraam Koen Levi followed in second and were the first Mixed and Youth team to cross the line—a standout performance.
The wind strengthened for Race 8, allowing some trapezing moments. This time, it was the Mixed team of Zdenek Pavlis / Klara Pavlisova who surged to victory, securing their first bullet of the event. In the Youth division, Maria Vogiatzopoulou / Stefanos Pappas claimed honors as the first Youth team to finish in that race—an excellent result on their home waters.
Despite the shake-up in results, Nikolaos Mavros / Polydoros Parianos continue to hold onto the yellow bibs, maintaining their lead at the top of the Open standings—16 points clear of second place. However, the Mixed and Youth divisions remain fiercely contested. The Czech duo Michaela & Marek Pavlisova hold the lead, but are being closely chased by Zdenek & Klara—just one point behind—making for a thrilling, down-to-the-wire battle.
Looking ahead, two more races are scheduled for tomorrow, the final day of the event. With the last possible start at 5:00 PM local time and the wind typically arriving late in the day, fingers are crossed that both races will go ahead as planned.
