There is plenty of action happening on the international sailing scene with Louis Vuitton Act 10 getting underway off Valencia, Spain and the first division having a relatively untroubled start to the regatta, scoring two wins apiece. Sail-World will have detailed analysis and news. Check back over the weekend.
In New York, Leg 7 of the Volvo Ocean race has got underway in the teeth of an Atlantic gale. Ericsson Racing is leading by a narrow margin and the fleet is closely bunched. We are hoping the Brunel team does well, Wharro must have been hurting as his baby sailed away. We will keep you updated.
In Austria, the ISAF World Sailing Games have been underway for two days. The Aussie Team has had an amazing start. Full details below.
We welcome New Zealand’s Bakewell-White Yacht Design to our Premium advertisers list this week. We look forward to working with Brett and his team and feature a piece on his latest powerboat design, Sleepyhead, which won the Powerboat Racing on the Waitemata harbour last weekend.
The Sail-World advertising deck is impressive with key industry players reaching the sailing audience, which has mostly moved online. If you or your company are advertising, make sure you read our article about the Gales of Change. An amazing 60% growth rate is predicted for on-line advertising this year in Australia and as budget time approaches, ad spends are being re-allocated.
In Australia the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show starts next week and Sail-World and its new sister publication BoatingandBoats.com will be bringing detailed reports.
We are receiving some great resumes as we are publicising our Marine Feature writer position. Details below.
Our apologies to anyone that may have received a duplicate newsletter on Wednesday. Unfortunately our server had technical stuttttterrr and we hope the tablets we gave it will work for the future.
We will continue to update the Sail-World.com website very regularly as results come through on the international scene.
