GBR Yngling third on first day of Miami OCR

Briton's Sarah Ayton, Sarah Webb and Victoria Rawlinson finished second in the first race for the Yngling class on the opening day of the US Sailing's Rolex Miami OCR. Ahead of them were the USA team of Sally Barkow, Deborah Capozzi and Carrie Howe.

In third place were the Spanish team of Monica Azon, Sandra Azon and Graciela Pisonero. The other GBR entry, Gemma Farrell, Rachel Howe and Diana Shanks, finished in seventh place.

In the second race of the day Ayton, Webb and Rawlinson finished fourth as Barkow, Capozzi and Howe took another win, with the Spanish team of Azon, Azon and Pisonero in second. Hannah Swett, Melissa Purdy and Elizabeth Filter (USA) were in third place.

Barkow made it a hat trick in the third race with the British girls again in fourth place.

Thus after day one, Barkow leads by three points from Azon with the British girls in third.
