Fremantle to Bali Race - 2015 Fremantle to Bali Race and Rally Anna Oldfield
Severe weather warnings for gale force winds in Perth have caused the postponement of the 2015 Wonderful Indonesia Fremantle to Bali Race and Rally presented by Fremantle Sailing Club from tomorrow, Saturday 16 May at 10am to a date likely to be either Sunday 17 May or Monday 18 May - to be advised.

Event chairman, Bob Kucera said that safety was paramount in the presentation of the 1,440 nautical mile race and that Fremantle Sailing Club was closely monitoring weather conditions before confirming the new start date.

He said the Principal Race Officer would confirm the new start day and times for the Race and Rally at a meeting at 1700hrs on Saturday 16th May.

Preparations for the biennial event have been underway for the past two years and have included a recent state-wide safety response exercise headed by the WA Water Police and participating agencies based on the Fremantle to Bali to support water safety during this and other events.

Twenty boats are registered for the 2015 event, ten in the race fleet and ten in the rally fleet.

With a strong racing fleet that includes Indian and Endorfin, both of which participated in the 2014 Sydney to Hobart, the 2015 Wonderful Indonesia Fremantle to Bali will be closely followed via the Yellow Brick Tracker on the event website
