Acton Belle Property International Moth Worlds 2026 at Mounts Bay Sailing Club - Day 2

by Sail-World.com and Down Under Sail 7 Nov 15:16 UTC 6-12 November 2026

Melville Waters, the broad, deep section of the Swan River in Perth, was unavailable until 1600 today, but by the time that rolled around we had a solid sea breeze, the Fremantle Doctor.

It was still a little shifty, and there were some decent holes up the top of the course where it comes over the land, making it challenging for many.

Australian Jack Ferguson had a great win in the first race of the day and an OK second race, but a crash on the line of the third race saw him struggling to claw back to 10th.

Richard Didham had a decent day, with a 7,7,2 scoreline, and can now drop one of those seventh places so is sitting in second place overall, however the points between 2nd and 4th overall remain tight.

Enzo Balanger has extended his lead and is sailing like a champion already, but of course it's early days. With four wins and a second on his scorecard he's now 11 points clear of the field.

Brad Funk broke his mast in the warm up sail at the start of the day and had to fix it, coming back to the course just in time for the third race in the stunning evening light.

Looking ahead, Sunday is a rest day and has a 30 knot breeze forecast to be 30kts, and it's also looking strong on Monday, so the fleet are preparing for some heavy weather sailing.
