Musto Sponsor New York Yacht Club's 2026 Resolute Cup, presenting the Corinthian Spirit Trophy

Musto, the leading British performance sailing apparel brand, has announced its sponsorship of the 2026 Resolute Cup, hosted by the New York Yacht Club (NYYC) from 28 September to 3 October in Newport, Rhode Island, USA. The sponsorship marks the first time Musto has partnered with the NYYC.
The Resolute Cup is the national championship of Corinthian fleet racing in the United States, bringing together amateur sailors from up to 28 yacht clubs across the country. Each team of four competes with a mixed crew, with every boat required to carry at least one male and one female sailor - a reflection of the inclusive, grassroots spirit that defines Corinthian racing.
Over four days of racing (plus one practice day) teams will sail identical, evenly matched Sonar keelboats supplied and rigged by the organising authority, ensuring the regatta is decided by sailing skill and teamwork rather than boat preparation or budget. Regular boat rotations will further ensure a level playing field, with the top half of the fleet advancing to a series of up to three double-point medal races on the closing Saturday. The winning team earns its club an invitation to the 2027 Rolex NYYC Invitational Cup, one of the sport's leading international Corinthian regattas.
As part of its sponsorship, Musto will present this year's Corinthian Spirit Trophy - an award voted on by all competing teams and given to the club judged to have best embodied the spirit of sportsmanship over the course of race week. Musto will award a gear donation which the winning team will direct toward a youth sailing program of its choosing, underscoring the brand's commitment to the amateur, Corinthian values at the heart of the event.

The Resolute Cup sponsorship builds on Musto's broader presence at the NYYC this year. Two Musto-supported teams raced in the New York Yacht Club International Women's Championship in early September, representing the Royal Thames Yacht Club and Team DutchSail.
