Musto, the world's leading performance sailing brand, brings to the market the new LPX Pro Trainer, setting a new standard for lightweight inshore racing footwear. Tipping the scales as the lightest sailing trainer Musto has ever produced, it is designed to keep athletes nimble and fast on deck.

The new LPX Pro Trainer is up to 10% lighter than the previous model (depending on the size). The single-layer fast-drying mesh upper provides outstanding breathability and is made from 100% recycled polyester. The GripDeck rubber outsole, incorporating 30% recycled rubber, ensures grip and non-marking traction on wet decks. Combined with Musto's XPL water draining technology, designed for rapid draining, this prevents pooling inside the shoe supported by a dynamic Gilly lacing system that keeps feet securely locked-in.

"The development of the LPX Pro Trainer was the need for sailors to have a trainer that was super secure during dynamic movements whilst racing whilst still allowing for that free range of movement," said Fergus Barnham, Musto Product Manager. "To do this we've stripped away as much weight as we could in the upper to focus purely on speed and agility. We managed to reduce the weight by ~10% (depending on the size) and keeping the instant-expulsion XPL drainage. We've created a trainer that refuses to hold water or hold you back. It's ultra-light, incredibly sticky on wet decks, quick drying and built specifically for the technical pressures of elite inshore racing."

In terms of performance, the new LPX Pro Trainer was put through its paces by Musto ambassador and pro sailor, David (Freddie) Carr: "Having raced at the highest level of the sport for more than 25 years, I've worn just about every sailing trainer on the market. The new Musto range, which I put through its paces last season, is without doubt the best sailing trainer I've ever used. They provide exceptional grip when moving around the boat in the toughest conditions, while remaining incredibly comfortable and quick-drying. When every second counts during manoeuvres, having complete trust in your footwear makes a real difference. If performance matters, these are the trainers you want on your feet."

The Dynamic Race Trainer is built for sailors who need a technical, long-lasting deck shoe capable of handling coastal and inshore racing across the full spectrum of conditions. Combining robust construction with intelligent comfort features, this is footwear engineered to go the distance. Multi-directional, non-marking, GripDeck rubber outsole with GripFlex tread ensures reliable traction on wet surfaces, and the single layer mesh construction creates a breathable yet sturdy shoe that dries quickly and is easy to clean.

"We saw the development of the Dynamic Race Trainer for the type of sailor who requires a long-lasting diverse shoe suitable to a variety of sailing environments," commented Fergus Barnham, Musto Product Manager. "The priority here was creating a trainer that was functional and durable, one that can handle the demands of racing and with the same shoe also offer a comfort technical deck shoe. We achieved this by utilising a 5D print on the upper to pair perfectly with a highly breathable single layer mesh to ensure the trainer remains breathable and fast drying."
