The 9th edition of the Trinité-Cherbourg by Actual regatta, organized by the Société Nautique de La Trinité-sur-Mer (SNT) , concluded on Wednesday, July 1st.
After a 365-mile race, the eleven crews who set off Sunday evening from Quiberon Bay put up a good fight, rewarded by a finish in the Cherbourg harbor, close to Fort Chavagnac.
Demanding conditions
This small but committed fleet sailed in generally favorable but demanding conditions. The wind blew for most of the time despite a few lulls, and the competitors had to contend with the currents of the Raz de Sein, the Four Channel, and the Cotentin Peninsula, all unavoidable passages in this race.
First in real time: Stamina Sailing Team
The honor of being the first to cross the virtual finish line in Cherbourg goes to Stamina Sailing Team , who arrived on June 30th at 11:30 PM , after just 2 days, 6 hours, 25 minutes, and 20 seconds at sea. A remarkable achievement for the sole MMW 40 amidst the numerous JPKs.
SL Energies prevails
The overall podium for this 9th edition was dominated by JPK and IRC Double-Handed yachts. Victory went to SL Energies V1D2 (JPK 1080), skippered by Laurent Charmy and Pierrick Letouzé . They finished just 1 hour and 51 minutes ahead of Abracadabra2 Soutient Don Bosco (JPK 1010 – Jean-André Hebel / Romain Gibon ), in a close finish that kept everyone in suspense until the very end. Third place went to Timeline (JPK 1080), who won the IRC Crew class, skippered by Marc Alperovitch, Gustave Liot, and Jean-Baptiste Vezin .
The 3rd IRC Double is Moïse, a JPK 1010 driven by Pierre-Yves Fouché and Vincent Lejeau.
IRC Crew: Timeline confirms its ranking
In the IRC Crew class, Timeline emerged victorious. The YCCA crew, regulars in the event, finished just 3 minutes ahead of Karavel 2 (JPK 1050 – Frédéric Nouel, Brieux Mégret, Nicolas Nouel and Pierre Keszler ). The podium was completed by Stamina Sailing Team (MMW 40 – Charlie Ageneau, Armand Clabon, Lucas Brevet, Thomas Bourhis and Pierre Swatek ).
