The Trinité-Cherbourg by Actual race started this Sunday in Quiberon Bay, with a wind of around fifteen knots.

A great start for the 11 boats entered, who are now sailing towards Cherbourg for the 9th edition of this summer regatta organized by the Société Nautique de la Trinité-sur-Mer (SNT) .

Ideal conditions for the entire fleet

The wind should remain strong for most of the crossing, between 8 and 20 knots, with only brief calmer spells. A slight swell is expected in the western English Channel, nothing to worry about, and no storms are forecast along the route. A calm westerly flow should accompany the fleet to the finish. In short, excellent sailing conditions, enough to make those left in port regret their absence.

Arrival expected between Tuesday and Wednesday

The first ships are expected in Cherbourg late Tuesday.

A virtual arrival, a first

New for 2026: the finish will, for the first time, be tracked. It will be a virtual finish , as part of an experimental rule implemented by World Sailing and the French Sailing Federation.
