Mat Waters, Vice Commodore for Belmont 16s Sailing Club said on the racing:

"Just over halfway through the heats and the conditions have shown real variety since Sunday, which is exactly what's needed at this level.

"Wednesday delivered a demanding day on the water for Heats 4 and 5, with three recalls and several 16ft skiffs blowing out. That, in turn, made life tougher for some of the trailing 13s as the fleet was put properly to the test.

"Overall, the standard of sailing this year has been outstanding, and it's great to see a Belmont crew sitting in second place at this stage. There's still plenty of racing left, and anything can happen from here."
