As the sun sets on Roy Disney's latest campaign with the Volvo70 Pyewacket 70, the sailing world looks forward the next era of one of the world's most successful and storied offshore racers.

Having just completed the 2025 Rolex Fastnet, Pyewacket 70 is now be race-ready and available for her next chapter — offering a rare opportunity for a new owner to inherit a legacy of excellence.

Originally launched as Telefónica for the 2011-2012 Volvo Ocean Race, this high-performance yacht quickly proved her pedigree, skippered by Olympic Gold and Silver medalist, Iker Martínez. She finishing fourth in one of the world's most grueling trans-oceanic races, after winning the first three legs.

From there, she made her way to Australia, and under the Black Jack banner, she underwent a major refit to become a "turbo-charged" VO70 with a taller mast, deeper keel, longer bow sprit and hydraulic winch systems - winning multiple Brisbane to Gladstone Races and achieving two top-five finishes in the Sydney to Hobart.

But it was under the stewardship of Roy P. Disney and the Pyewacket 70 name — a dynasty synonymous with offshore racing royalty — that the yacht truly flourished. Since 2019, Pyewacket 70 has been raced in an upgraded configuration, boasting a taller Southern Spars rig, deeper keel, and extended bowsprit. These upgrades, combined with a full North Sails inventory and state-of-the-art hydraulic systems, have kept the yacht at the forefront of international competition.

The results speak for themselves:

  • 2025 Antigua Sailing Week - Line Honours, Overall Winner
  • 2024 Bermuda Race - Line Honours
  • 2023 RORC Caribbean 600 - Line Honours & IRC Overall Winner
  • 2023 Pineapple Cup - Line Honours
  • 2022 Pacific Cup - Line Honours
  • 2022 Puerto Vallarta - New Course Record
  • 2021 Transpac Race - Line Honours
  • 2021 Cabo San Lucas - Line Honours, Overall Winner, Race Record
  • 2020 Puerto Vallarta - Class Winner

This is not just a yacht — Pyewacket 70 is a proven race weapon, meticulously maintained by a professional crew and built to last by the renowned King Marine. With her systems fully upgraded and its performance record unmatched, Pyewacket 70 is poised to continue her winning tradition under new ownership.

For any serious offshore campaigner, this is a once-in-a-generation opportunity. With the right timing, the new owner could even take the helm in this year's Sydney to Hobart. The Pyewacket 70 team concluded their final performance in this year's Rolex Fastnet race - finishing fourth monohull across the finish line in Cherbourg - only beaten on the water by three 100ft supermaxis.

The legacy is rich. The performance is proven. The future is wide open for a new owner.
