Superyacht UK announces appointment of new dedicated association manager

Superyacht UK (SYUK) the membership association representing the interests of the UK Superyacht industry both at home and internationally, is delighted to announce the appointment of Michael Beattie as the new SYUK manager.

Michael brings a wealth of experience to the role with nearly 25 years working within the UK and International marine and superyacht industry.

"I am delighted to be joining Superyacht UK", commented Michael. "The superyacht sector in the UK contains some of the industry's best brands, talent and innovation and I look forward to working with the SYUK committee, the members, the British Marine team and the wider superyacht market to support and promote the best the UK has to offer in this exciting sector."

Michael has spent the last three years at Boat International as Chief Commercial Officer. Prior to this he spent over 20 years working at across Superyacht World, Yachting World, Supersail World, Yachting Monthly, Practical Boat Owner and Motor Boat & Yachting. With his breath of industry knowledge, Micheal is ideally positioned to help further promote SYUK, an association of British Marine, championing UK excellence and innovation on a global scale.

Ben Geary, Chair of Superyacht UK, commented: "During my nearly six months as Chairman of Superyacht UK, I've had the honour of listening to both past and present members. We as the industry body recognise the need for change to better serve our valued members. As part of this effort, we've appointed Michael, who brings extensive industry experience and a shared passion for driving Superyacht UK forward. I believe his expertise will undoubtedly bring significant value to our members and I look forward to working closely with him."

In his role, Michael will be responsible for overseeing the promotion of SYUK members, implementing the annual business plan, and leading the association's membership and governance activities. He will also represent SYUK at both domestic and international meetings, events and networking opportunities, ensuring that members' interests are well-represented.

This appointment marks a significant step in SYUK and British Marine's ongoing efforts to support sustainable growth within the marine industry and provide exceptional service to its members. Michael's role is pivotal in ensuring that SYUK remains a symbol of excellence within the international community.
