Following a soft launch in the sailing market, VALLON has formally launched the Malizia, designed in partnership with Boris Herrmann and his Team Malizia.

As long-standing friends of the brand, and sharing a strong sustainability ethos at the core of their work, the partnership was an obvious choice. Working closely together, the Team Malizia sailors and VALLON created the ultimate sailing sunglasses made from sustainable materials for Boris Herrmann to take on his next Vendée Globe challenge this November.

The Malizia are unisex performance sunglasses, designed for sailing, featuring exceptional V52® polarized lenses, and frames made from 85% recycled fishing nets fused into a durable nylon-6. The Malizia are designed by the professional sailing team and VALLON for skippers, sailors, and seafarers who are seeking a high-performance, sustainable eyewear solution that will provide maximum protection for long days out on the water, where eye comfort and protection are essential.

Together with the Mama Earth Foundation, Team Malizia created the Malizia Mangrove Park in the Philippines where half the mangroves were lost over the past 100 years. The aim is to restore the local mangrove ecosystem and, thanks to help from around the world, Team Malizia reached the goal of planting one million mangroves. They have now set the new goal of 2 million mangroves and the restoration efforts receive support from donations worldwide with several of their partners seamlessly integrating donations into their daily operations. For every pair of Malizia sold, 10 mangrove seedlings will be planted in the Malizia Mangrove Park.
