'SailorGirl' Nic Douglass to provide live coverage of Marinas24!

by Marina Industries Association 18 Mar 2024 22:48 PDT 27-28 May 2024

The Marina Industries Association (MIA) has engaged marine media commentator Nic Douglass, aka Sailor Girl, to provide media support services at Marinas24. Nic will attend the entire event to deliver live commentary, media updates, share the insightful conference content and promote the products and services of exhibitors.

Suzanne Davies, MIA CEO commented, "Nic will bring great vitality to the event, share it with the entire industry and will provide additional exposure for our speakers, exhibitors and sponsors."

"I am really looking forward to sharing my first experience at Marinas24", said Nic Douglass. "It is always fantastic to hear about new innovations in the marine industry, whether technological or organisational. I am looking forward to sharing a behind-the-scenes view into those key learnings from our exhibitors and speakers across the event on the Marinas24 channels, as well as my own."

With tens of thousands of followers on her 'Adventures of a Sailor Girl' social media profile @sailorgirlhq, Nic will have plenty to share when she joins the Marketing Marinas conference panel on day one of the event.

"The Marketing Marinas conference panel will be a highlight, where I will share my own learnings following over a decade of work with clients across the marine industry; from sailing clients, including brands and events, to those people may not know about, such as submarines. Most importantly, it will be fantastic to check in with my industry friends, and to expand my network while sharing the stories from the incredible marine services that we have available around Australia and New Zealand," she said.

Marinas24 is a biennial event and will take place 27 & 28 May 2024 at the Royal International Convention Centre (RICC) Brisbane, Queensland. More than 260 delegates have already registered for the event, which is on track to be the biggest marinas conference yet with over 50 marine businesses exhibiting and showcasing their marina related products and services and 24 inspiring conference sessions. The full conference program is now live at Marinas-24.com.

The Superior Soiree at HSW will send-off Marinas24 delegates after two full days of conferencing and exhibition. To be held overlooking the Brisbane River at Howard Smith Wharves, the final dinner is again set to cap off another successful event allowing delegates to relax and enjoy each other's company. The Superior Soiree Afterparty will be at Mr Percival's Overwater Bar, at HSW and under the Story Bridge.

A Study Tour will take place on Wednesday, 29 May. The itinerary commences with two of the state's larger marine facilities, the 2023 Boatyard of the Year (20+ boats) The Yard Brisbane; and 2021 Marina of the Year Hall of Fame inductee, Rivergate Marina and Shipyard. Delegates will travel between the two yards on the Brisbane River before re-boarding the Marine Travelift coaches, down to the Manly boating precinct where delegates will visit East Coast Marina and the 5 Gold Anchor and 2023 MOTYA 'Club of the Year' Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron (RQYS). There are only 150 spaces available on the Study Tour.
