Lantau Yacht Club (LYC) has achieved a significant milestone by being awarded the prestigious 5 Gold Anchor Platinum and Superyacht Ready accreditations from the Marina Industries Association (MIA). This dual recognition affirms LYC's standing as one of Asia's most advanced and service-oriented marinas, highlighting its excellence in operations, facilities, and hospitality.

The 5 Gold Anchor Platinum status represents the highest tier under the internationally recognised Global Gold Anchor Scheme, which assesses marinas across more than 90 criteria. These include service quality, environmental standards, infrastructure, and amenities. Platinum-level marinas are known for delivering a premium experience tailored to the diverse needs of modern boaters, including those operating superyachts.

Building on its earlier 5 Gold Anchors rating earned in September 2021, this elevation to Platinum underscores LYC's continued dedication to excellence and investment in top-tier infrastructure and customer-focused services.

"This dual accreditation represents our relentless pursuit of perfection. We are proud to be Hong Kong's first 5 Gold Anchor Platinum Marina, with facilities and services that connect yachting enthusiasts across the region," said Franklin Mak, Executive Vice President of Hospitality, HKR International Limited. "Our vision is to create a complete yachting ecosystem, reinforcing our position as the homeport for international superyachts, driving maritime innovation, and enhancing Hong Kong's global nautical standing. This Platinum accreditation acknowledges our journey and propels our mission to redefine luxury yachting standards across Asia."

Adding to its Platinum accolade, LYC has also received the Superyacht Ready status, granted to marinas equipped to accommodate vessels over 24 metres in length. LYC is currently the first and only marina in Hong Kong to receive both distinctions, reflecting its capability to host the most sophisticated yachts in the region.

Located on stunning Lantau Island, the LYC marina features 148 berths ranging from 10 to 60 metres, which can berth superyachts of up to approximately 100 metres. Purpose-built to international standards, the marina offers a typhoon-sheltered harbour and cutting-edge facilities to ensure a safe, secure, and seamless experience for all boaters.

The Clubhouse offers a variety of premium amenities including Caffè Napoli, the Private Dining Room, Entertainment Room, The Lawn, and a BBQ area - ideal for social gatherings and events.

Members also enjoy access to sister clubs and hospitality facilities under Auberge Hospitality, including the Discovery Bay Golf Club and the Auberge Discovery Bay Hong Kong hotel.

MIA President Andrew Chapman CMM wasn't surprised by the assessment outcome, explaining, "This is an impressive marina that incorporates a full-service resort, amazing leisure facilities, and some of the best food and beverage in Hong Kong. There are not too many facilities in Asia that can do it as well as Lantau Yacht Club."

With this dual accreditation, Lantau Yacht Club stands at the forefront of Asia's marina landscape, setting a new benchmark for service, safety, and sophistication in the yachting world.
