The Caribbean's longest running workboat regatta, the Carriacou Regatta Festival, will take place from August 4 - 7, 2023, under the theme "Timeless Culture on the Sea."

The regatta, which got its start in 1965 by the late J. Linton Rigg, brings the story of Carriacou's rich boat building history to life.

Each year in August, the Carriacou Regatta Festival features races for multiple classes of workboats, including the highly anticipated deck sloop around the island race. Along with the action on the sea, there are onshore activities for all to enjoy, such as donkey racing and walking the greasy pole - both traditional activities to the festival. Evening entertainment and delicious cuisine complete the Carriacou Regatta experience.

Day 1, Friday, August 4: Boatmen Welcome Party - All boaters and competitors are welcome to attend starting at 6pm. Visit The Mermaid beach front for live music and entertainment.

Day 2, Saturday, August 5: Boat Races Begin - Whether on the island or via boat, watch the many boats race in the Deck Sloops Round the Island at 10am, with the half Moon Long Open Boat Race scheduled at 11am. After a day of racing party-goers can continue mingling at the After Party nearby Tony's Shop.

Day 3, Sunday, August 6: All White Party - Boat races continue throughout the day beginning at 10am from Hillsborough, alongside onshore activities. Attend the All White Party taking place at The Hillsborough Tennis Court.

Day 4, Monday, August 7: Closing Ceremony and Prizes - End the week of racing with the final boating race starting at 10am with onshore activities scheduled throughout the day, including an emancipation parade, prize giveaways, and a final closing ceremony.
