As the 29er EuroCup moves into Scandinavia, 35 teams completed six races over the weekend 6-7 May as part of the GKSS Olympic Classes Regatta 2023.

The 29er Eurocup in Gothenburg, Sweden was sailed in sunny, spring weather conditions, with light and shifty winds providing two days of tight racing in tricky conditions. 35 boats from Norway, Finland, Denmark, Germany and Sweden did their best to master the conditions on the racecourse outside the GKSS harbour in Långedrag.

The racing was unbelievably close, with the top 3 teams all finishing the series on equal points.

Swedish teammates Ebba and Ellen Fredriksson won the final race to take both the overall and the Women's title, ahead of Danish team Yanne Broers and Gustav Aasholm-Bradley who also win the Open Category. Erik Bengtsston and Jonatan Roijer also from Sweden took third and win the overall Men's title.

Top Under 17 team was German teammates Sophie Schnieder and Victoria Egger who also take Bronze in the Women's category.

The 2023 EuroCup Series continues to be an exciting and closely fought contest with the Men, Women's and Open fleets competing together, creating an incredible depth of skill throughout the fleet, where the competition level continues to grow year after year. Next stop in the EuroCup 2023 will be in Denmark 13/14th May 2023.
