Excitement is building for the World ARC fleet with entry clearances now under way in Puerto Baquerizo, Galapagos. With Skipper's fully briefed on what to expect, the lengthy process should pass smoothly. With conservation in mind, it is necessary for a variety of local and government authorities to visit each vessel - sailors have been made aware that all personnel will need biscuits and beverages to keep them satisfied for the duration of their visit!

Whilst the sailors fly code flag 'Q' and remain on their vessels, Rally Control have been busy liaising with agents, venues and tour operators. All preparations are in place for cruising around the Galapagos and the subsequent activities that are due to follow. Whilst on the island of San Cristobal, the fleet will enjoy a tour visiting El Junco, Galapaguera, finishing at Puerto Chino. For many years the tour has been a much-loved feature on the World ARC programme, and one that they will surely not be forgotten. Participants will be taken into the depths of the island and back, seeing a vast array of the native and unspoilt flora and fauna. Additionally, each evening the Miconia hotel and restaurant will host the World ARC fleet for a happy hour at 1700 - this meeting point has historically acted as an idyllic meeting point for all to catch up and share stories of their days adventures.

In the meantime, whilst the rain now begins to pass in Shipwreck Bay, the participants ready their sealion boat defence tactics, fenders at every corner! As cute and cuddly as they look, it will be no surprise if one morning the sailors climb into their cockpit to find they have been boarded by an enormously big and smelly sealion!

With no vessels remaining in Panama, we anticipate all arrivals to the Galapagos will be processed by Thursday evening.
