International yacht charter companies, Sunsail and The Moorings, have partnered with the Marine Engineering Department at Coleg Llandrillo in North Wales to recruit talented engineers to work as yacht technicians in the Mediterranean and Caribbean.

Part of the Travelopia Group, Sunsail and The Moorings are leading charter companies with a fleet of over 600 vessels, made up of monohulls, catamarans and power catamarans, in over 20 worldwide locations worldwide.

Recruitment specialist at Travelopia, Sophie Hygate, said, "The maintenance of our yachts is one of our top priorities, so our technicians form a vital part of our team. The courses at Coleg Llandrillo look like they could be a great technical fit for the experience we look for in our technicians. Our recruitment team forward to visiting the College next academic year to provide students with further information on our company, our roles and what we look for in our team members."

Andy White, Marine Training Programme Coordinator at the College, added, "Currently, most of our learners progress into the merchant navy or the offshore energy sectors, so it is exciting to establish a route into the charter and flotilla sector. Having worked in this part of the industry before, I know it can be fun and challenging with fantastic opportunities to travel as well as develop practical technical skills. This is a great opportunity for our learners, Sunsail is one of the biggest yachting holiday providers and offer their staff good ongoing development and progression. Students will have the opportunity to interview for positions in Greece or Croatia over the summer months between the level 2 and level 3 courses, and for continuing students, opportunities for permanent roles in other global locations."

There are limited places available for funded courses at Colleg Llandrillo starting in September/October 2022. To find out more, prospective students should email .
