Icom UK has put together an article in their website's knowledge base section, answering all the most common questions they receive from customers about MMSI (Maritime Mobile Service Identity) numbers.

The article answers the question of what an MMSI number is, how they are used and where to get one. It also answers some of the questions about entering your MMSI number into the radio and the different procedures regarding handheld DSC radios.
