The amount of activity around upcoming events suggests a rapid return to normality within the industry and we will bring you the latest news as it unfolds.

ASMEX 2022 is pleased to announce the following speakers for the upcoming ASMEX conference. Martin Jufors Vice President of Marine Sales, Business Unit Marine. Volvo Penta Martin. Hanna Ljungqvist - Vice President of Service Market Marine Volvo Penta. Dan Fisher Sales Manager Marine VEEM Limited. Adam Chanter Maritime, Employment, Skills and Training Officer TAFE Queensland. A week later, Marinas 22 takes place over the 23rd-24th May also on the Gold Coast. One of the regular highlights of the conference program is a presentation on shifting demographics; how the changes will shape our communities and where the opportunities to the future will arise. This year McCrindle Research will present a session called Now and Towards 2031. Ashley Fell, McCrindle Demographer & Social Researcher will provide an insightful presentation which will explore the demographic, consumer and behavioural trends shaping the nation and the opportunities this will present for marinas.

The first boat show of the year takes place at Sanctuary Cove, also in May. As one of the most exciting marine events in the southern hemisphere, Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS) returns from May 19th to 22nd this year, just north of the Gold Coast. Beneteau, Lagoon Catamarans and Excess Catamarans will be presenting a fleet of 10 models for a diverse array of visitors, including monohulls (sailboats, as well as outboard and inboard motorboats) and catamarans (sail and power). The display at the show is jointly arranged by our dealers in Australia, Flagstaff Marine, Spirit Marine and The Multihull Group, and greatly supported by Beneteau, Excess and Lagoon Asia Pacific.

Leading importer Windcraft Yachts will showcase a strong contingent of highly regarded brands at this year's show, including two exciting power models - the all new RYCK 280 outboard powered sports day boat and the sleek Fjord 38 Xpress day boat. Sailing enthusiasts will also be spoilt for choice, able to inspect no fewer than four examples of the award-winning Hanse range, including a Hanse 315, Hanse 418, Hanse 458 and Hanse 575.

Staying in Queensland, 2022 marks a decade of joint venture partnership between ATL Composites Australia and M.u.H. von der Linden GmbH, based in Wesel, Germany, manufacturing the range of ATL's lightweight panel solutions including DuFLEX, DuraKore, and Featherlight composite panels to top European boat builders, architects and other creative industries. Product updates include Volvo's assisted docking systems. Volvo Penta is launching its Assisted Docking system as a retrofit upgrade for many yacht owners with Volvo Penta IPS (Inboard Performance System), from the year 2012 and onwards. This launch from Volvo Penta includes software updates, demonstrating how the Volvo Penta IPS propulsion system can keep improving over time, as Volvo Penta innovation continues the evolution of the company's complete helm-to-prop solutions.

Recently launched the Arvor 625 Sportsfish, a demonstration of the boat is now available on video. Designed to maximize every bit of deck space along with a well-equipped enclosed cabin, it's a boat that can easily double as an impromptu overnighter. And further news of industry developments in China. GMBA continues to expand its portfolio of clients and advisors and is becoming a valuable resource for the marine industry. China for many years has been on the radar of marine industry businesses globally, either investigating opportunities to export to China, manufacturing in China, supporting infrastructure development or sourcing for supply chains from China. China has been seen as a growth market and with the island province off China's southern coast, looking set to play a key role in boosting leisure boating in the region, many GMBA clients continue to keep a watchful eye on this market. To ensure GMBA can continue to service clients with quality market information and networks GMBA has appointed Godfrey Zwygart as their representative in China.
