The latest Craftinsure Silver Scorpion event took place at Pennine Sailing Club over the weekend of 4th/5th September. After the full-on experience of the Penzance Championship, it was an opportunity to enjoy a competitive but relaxing event in the sunshine of the Pennines.

With 6 short course races on the Saturday and the 3 races on the Sunday, Race Officer Dominic Barnes and team had a challenge of light winds from the "its normally like this" direction of over the dam wall and did an excellent job of setting the courses and quick turnarounds.

The weekend was dominated by Pete and Rachel Gray from Staunton Harold but were also made to work hard to pull through the fleet to ensure they won the prize of "Yorkshire Teabags" traditionally, the must have prize.

An evening curry in "Last of the summer wine" town of Holmfirth, gave an opportunity to catch up.

Thank you to all who supported the event and the club members who provided Race Office and Rescue teams.

Overall Results:

1st 2045 Pete Gray and Rachel Gray
2nd 2031 Pete Crowther and Dave Thompson
3rd 2044 Steve Walker and Jerry Hannabuss
4th Colin Bradley and Luke Bradley
5th Chris Muxworthy and Tom Daniel
6th Kev Nichols and Alex Green
7th Cheryl Wood and Chole Mills/Emma Warren
