The world's leading shipyard and superyacht company, Benetti have been rewarded for their keen focus on the Asia Pacific region with record new yacht sales to Australian buyers in the last three years and the first of these brand new Benetti yachts slated for arrival in late 2022.

Established in 1873, Benetti is renowned for delivering many of the world's most iconic superyachts (24+ metres), megayachts (45+ metres) and gigayachts (80+ metres).

Peter Mahony, Asia Pacific General Manager says Benetti has had three record years of sales in the Asia Pacific region making it the leading region for Benetti worldwide and accounting for around a quarter of the Company's global sales with the region contributing over €260 million of sales during that time.

"We see the Australian and New Zealand markets aligned and even exceeding the global reaction to the pandemic with a huge surge in demand not only for yachts, but moreover the design for new yachts," Mr Mahony said.

"Australians have a unique culture and passion for adventures and the outdoors which makes yachting an ideal leisure pursuit to enjoy Australia's pristine waters and breath-taking scenery and Benetti views Australia as a key future superyacht charter hotspot," he said.

"While each yacht is personalised to a buyer's exact requirements, we see Australian buyers identifying the lifestyle focused layout and features of Benetti's OASIS DECK™ and the incredible versatility of the B.Yond 37M series as perfect for the region."

Numerous high profile Australian identities have made new and old Benetti acquisitions. While Benetti has had a long history in Australia including during the 80s when Queensland based shipbuilder, Keith Lloyd brokered a 20-year licence to allow him to build Benetti designs in Australia.

Benetti's presence and confidence in Australia has been extremely strong in recent years with high visibility partnerships of Australian marine and superyacht industry events such as Australian Superyacht Rendezvous - Gold Coast (since its inception in 2017), Sydney Boat Show 2017, Benetti Yachtmaster 2019 - Gold Coast, Superyacht Dock Party 2019 - Cairns, Australian Superyacht Grand Soiree - Sydney (2019-2021), Sail GP 2020 - Sydney, Australian Superyacht Marine Export & Commercial Industry Conference - Sanctuary Cove (since 2019) and various Captain's dinners hosted by Gold Coast City Marina & Shipyard (GCCM) and Rivergate.

Benetti's evolving presence in the Australian market has seen the development of some key partnerships including with both Gold Coast City Marina and Shipyard (GCCM) and Rivergate Marina and Shipyard to ensure that Benetti owners have priority access to world class "one stop shop" shipyards for repairs and maintenance.

"Ensuring our Australian buyers have a clear understanding of how a Benetti yacht will be maintained and supported is an important part of our "service first" strategy. Furthermore, it has been important to the Benetti brand to be able to guarantee our buyers second-to-none access to world class repairs and maintenance to keep their Benetti vessels on the water."
