The 2020/21 Farr 40 National Titles have continued today on the Manly Circle off Sydney Heads.

Forecast conditions were favourable, and with the cancellation of the Strong Wind Warning for the Sydney Coast, the PRO, Denis Thompson, advised owners and tacticians that all races would be conducted offshore on the Manly Circle today.

Ideal conditions and an escort of dolphins meet the fleet for their 1100 start for the first of four windward/leeward races with the breeze out of the north east.

The on-water umpire for the regatta to clear any boat-on-boat protests wasn't troubled today with relatively clean racing. Race Five was the only race with individual recalls at the start.

Crews reported in that they were happy to complete a total of four races for day two, making a total of eight completed for the regatta.

Throughout the day various yachts led the fleet with Outlaw taking out Race Five and Nutcracker Race Six. Race Seven had the closest finish of the regatta with Outlaw surfing a wave in a building breeze just edging out the Chris Way-steered Zen.

The MHYC yacht Bluetack was forced to retire from Race Seven with jib track issues before returning to start the final race of the day. Class Treasurer Jeff Carter took out the last race on his yacht Exile.

The CYCA/RSYS representative Outlaw retains the 'Boat of the Day' flag and leads the National Titles by a clear seven-point margin. The last day of racing is scheduled to commence inshore at 1100 tomorrow.

Back at the club the crews moved the traditional 'dock party' inside to escape the heat and enjoyed a post-race debrief.
