The Director of Yamba Welding and Engineering (YWE) announces that the company has purchased Naiad Design in New Zealand.

This purchase will not affect the current business arrangements that Naiad has with its International and Domestic licenced builders and the Naiad support team will remain located in Picton, (New Zealand). YWE has been working with Naiad since 2011 and are committed to growing the company.

Yamba Welding employ 36 staff at their yard in the coast town of Yamba, Northern NSW. YWE has been in business for 45 years, under the ownership of Bill Collingburn. It's commitment to quality and customer service has seen the business go from strength to strength.

This acquisition will give YWE greater scope to further establish the Naiad footprint into the international markets. The staff at Naiad in New Zealand consist of two Naval Architects, one Designer, one workshop technician and an administration officer.

The new company names will be Naiad International Pty Ltd, a company incorporated in Australia, and Naiad New Zealand Limited, a company incorporated in New Zealand.

YWE look forward to working with the current staff of Naiad and believe the current Directors are committed to a smooth transition and we wish them well for their retirement.

The sale was finalised on 31st March 2020, with business continuing very much as usual.
