When ocean racing is in your blood, little things like a global pandemic can't slow you down for long!
On June 27, the SORC is proud to host its first post-corona race, circumnavigating Miami's Key Biscayne in a novel format that promises fun and safety to sailors of all types.
It's a pursuit-race style, where faster boats start later and chase the earlier starters to the finish line, and awards are announced on the spot.
Initially scheduled for May 24, the storm that became Tropical Storm Arthur caused a postponement to the week after Father's Day.
This impromptu event will preview fun to be had in the 2020-21 season, where the venerable Miami-Nassau Race, Lauderdale to Key West Race, and the new Eleuthera Race all expect recent-record years as travel and meeting restrictions continue to ease and more and more people go sailing!
