Coming finally to the Laser Radial class is the ILCA 6 composite lower section, available in New Zealand from The Water Shed for $1,720.

The addition of carbon top sections was a massive performance upgrade for the one-design class in 2017. Composite top sections improved acceleration, gave a better sail shape, and improved trimming. The new bottom sections are intended to offer a similar step up in performance and solve the ongoing issue of permanent bend in the bottom sections of the existing aluminium sections.

The Water Shed is taking orders now for their first shipment which is due to leave PSA Mid-February. Contact the shop to place your order.

If you need advice on racing dinghies from Optimists to 49ers, The Water Shed's Dan Slater is one of the world's top coaches, a three times Olympian and former World Youth champion. Get the benefit of his advice and years of experience, save money, and make your boat faster!
