Euromarine Insurance Ramsgate Week 2019 Day 5 saw the IRC classes compete in the QEII Cup and day two of the Spinlock IRC East Coast Regional Championships.
The fleet started a pair of windward leeward courses in light conditions that could be best described as 'tropical' before a steady six to eight knot breeze enabled competitors to make good headway around the courses.
Race 1 Results:
IRC1 - Stiletto, Mercury & Assassin
IRC2 - Foxy, Cobra & Warrior
IRC3 - Swuzzlebubble, Spip & Pure Joy
Race 2 Results:
IRC1 - Assassin, Stiletto & Mercury
IRC2 - Sandstorm, Foxy & Zarafa
IRC3 - Swuzzlebubble, Pure Joy & Spip
The cruiser classes undertook a shortened inshore course after the breeze enjoyed by the IRC classes took longer to reach the inshore track. Line honours and class five win went to Nick Moultin's Dabtoe. Local boats Maverick Blown Away made up the podium places.
Class six saw a win for local boat 'Amelie' from Jean-Marc Devos in 'Carpe Diem' with another RTYC boat 'Miss Amelia' third on corrected time.
In class seven, James Fisher took line honours in the ¾ tonner 'Borsalino' and first place on corrected time from local boat 'Splash' ahead of Bernard Sealy in 'Karibia Breezes' in third.
