Asia Marine welcomes the Volvo Ocean Race to Hong Kong

“It’s the biggest and best sailing event ever to visit Hong Kong,” says Eric Noyel, CEO of Asia Marine, Hong Kong’s number 1 luxury charter company. “I want to see the action out on the water, and we want as many people as possible to get out on the water and help make the VOR Hong Kong Stopover as big a success as possible.

If that sounds like a good idea, Asia Marine’s charter fleet of luxury motoryachts will get you close to the action, and racing in Hong Kong harbour is part of the stopover programme. ‘The Volvo’ is the toughest yacht race on the planet; a full circumnavigation of the globe split up into 11 legs, starting in Alicante and finishing in The Hague some eight months later. The local entry, SHK Scallywag, crossed the Hong Kong finish at 01.45 this morning (Saturday), to produce a perfect fairytale ending to the race leg from Melbourne: first place for a first-ever Hong Kong entry, on the occasion of Hong Kong’s first time as a stopover!

Next up: In-Port racing (27 January), an Around the Island race (28 January). Spectator charters are available on board Asia Marine’s fleet of luxury motoryachts – the Numarine 78 Hardtop and the Numarine 62. Individual tickets: HK$ 3,000 per person/day, or rent the whole boat (max 15 passengers).

Saturday 27 January 2018. Watch the In-Port Race. Follow the action as the seven racing yachts go head to head in Victoria Harbour.

Sunday 28 January 2018. The Volvo Around Hong Kong Island Race. Watch the start of the Around HK Island Race, which completes a full loop of Hong Kong Island, finishing back at Kai Tak.

Wednesday 7 February 2018. Farewell the Volvo Ocean Race Yachts Toast the boats as they leave Hong Kong and head to their next stop in Auckland, New Zealand.

Ticket price includes: - Follow the racing teams from the comfort of a luxury motor yacht - Free-flow wine, soft drinks, water and canapés onboard - Visit the Volvo Race Village and enjoy various race-related activities - Embark and disembark at Central Pier no 9

Each cruise lasts 4h ~ 6h (depending on race time) RSVP: info@asiamarine.com +852 2677 7791
