Australian football great, fishing icon and official ambassador for the 2025 Sydney Boat Show, Andrew 'ET' Ettingshausen shared his top highlights for the upcoming four-day event.

From the latest in boating gear and expert sailing tips to family-friendly attractions, he's diving into everything that makes this year's show a must-see. For the first time, the show will take over Sydney Showground at Sydney Olympic Park, running from 14 to 17 August, and will feature 21,000m2 of indoor exhibition space packed with marine innovation, fishing gear, family fun, and expert-led education.

Further news on investment in the industry's future employee status is provided by the BIAV. Through Boating Careers, BIAV has partnered with the Australian College of Pioneers to develop a marine-specific qualification tailored to industry needs: the Certificate IV in Boating Services. Their first group of students is now ready to undertake work placements with marine businesses across Victoria. They'll arrive with a forklift licence, strong foundational skills in hand and power tool use, essential business knowledge, and solid training in workplace health and safety.

Expansions and partnerships continue to be forged as the industry expands. SEA.AI, the global leader in AI-powered vision systems for maritime safety, continues its rapid international expansion with the addition of key partners. With more than 150 dealers now onboard, SEA.AI is fast becoming the go-to safety solution for skippers, shipyards, and security and electronics professionals around the world.

The International SeaKeepers Society South Pacific is proud to announce a new partnership with Quality Marine Clothing (QMC), who will serve as the official uniform sponsor for the South Pacific chapter. Lake Macquarie volunteers at the State's busiest Marine Rescue NSW unit have already safely returned 672 people to shore and completed 297 search and rescue missions in a busy first half of the year. The number of people returned safely is consistent with the 681 rescued during the same period last year, as the unit prepares for another busy boating season ahead. Capability at Marine Rescue Lake Macquarie has been boosted with an enhanced rescue vessel, which was officially welcomed during a commissioning ceremony.
