James Sainsbury is building his second home-built International Moth, after the success of LunarSea. We are going to follow the build on Sail-World.com and YachtsandYachting.com.

After building my first boat, LunarSea, in 2014 I decided this year that I wanted to take everything I have learnt and build another. This time not being quite so conservative.

The International Moth is a development class. Staying true to this, there are a few things that are a bit out there with this new design. The most obvious at the moment is the increased displacement but reduced freeboard.

There are lots of other ideas that I'm keeping under wraps which will come to light as the build progresses. You can follow the progress on 'International Moth Home builders' on facebook. I can assure you it will be as out there and different as the paint job on LunarSea was.

Once again it's being built in my house. I started off building the plug in the spare room but have very quickly moved to the living room where it will stay until its time to leave the house. Yes, i do have a partner and yes she is very forgiving!

The hull is built and work has started on the internal structures. Next step, building the wing units. Watch this space!
