Superyachts- Light airs for last day of racing in the Millennium Cup

by Paul Gilbert on 18 Feb 2013
Janice of Wyoming - Day 3 of the Millennium Cup, Auckland NZ Paul Gilbert . http://www.aquapx.com

Lighter airs and a shortened course up the East Coast Bays to Gulf Harbour saw the Millennium Cup fleet offloading truckloads of cruising comforts to try and dominate on the waters of the Hauraki Gulf.

On the last day of racing, a dog fight from the top mark off Gulf Harbour saw Zefiro sail a very smart race with the formidable Silvertip.

In the Waitemata on their last tack Zefiro pushed Silvertip high up against the city wharves, but in the last hundred metres, bearing away to make the finish mark Silvertip held on and in a breathtaking finish crossed seconds ahead to take the gun.

Paul Gilbert from www.aquapx.com captured all the action on Day 3
