Workhorse Panda Eight Mini DP AC Generator gets tech upgrades

One of North America’s best selling marine generators—the Fischer Panda Eight Mini DP AC Generator— has received significant technical upgrades to improve performance and reliability.

Added to this generator, a favorite in the 30- to 38-foot sportfishing market, is an internal Voltage Control System (VCS) that provides numerous improvements:

* Quick responding VCS servomotor to increase voltage stability within a range of plus/minus three volts
* Sealed, lower sound shield base to reduce ingesting of water from the bilge
* External and internal water sensors to alert customer of high water outside or inside the generator compartment
* Ease of installation and improvements

Powered by the reliable freshwater cooled Kubota Z428 twin cylinder diesel with Fischer Panda’s trademark freshwater-cooled asynchronous electrical end, the Mini 8 is extremely quiet at 52 dBa @ seven meters, and super light at just 350 pounds. The 8 Mini has been a year-to-year sales leader for Fischer Panda North America, according to Chad Godwin, Fischer Panda’s Director of Sales and Marketing.

'We are enjoying a robust business with many of our generator models, and OEM business, especially for the 8 Mini, has been very strong with Grady-White, Boston Whaler, Pursuit Fishing Boats and other various OEM customers choosing this unit for specific models,' Godwin added.

MSRP for the new Panda 8 Mini DP AC Generator is $15,200.00, which includes a sound shield, digital NMEA control panel, remote fuel pump, pre-wired harnesses and manuals.

As the only true 100%, water-cooled asynchronous generators on the market, Fischer Panda stands apart from the competition. No other cooling system is more efficient. The Fischer Panda generator can cool the stator winding with nearly 100-percent efficiency due to the unique design of the asynchronous rotor that has no windings, no brushes or diodes. A conventional synchronous generator, on the other hand, can never achieve this level of efficiency because the rotor windings are cooled with air. That same air is very hot and transfers considerable noise. The air also carries humidity and dirt into the windings, which increases the resistance and thereby reduces electrical output.

The freshwater-cooled Fischer Panda generators provide distinct advantages over air-cooled generators, in size, weight, noise and Fischer Panda website
