The Multihull Class continues to grow in number and has attracted some of the world's elite sailors.

Renowned sailor extra ordinaire, Laurent Bourgnon who will be driving the 'Orange' sponsored cat will, without a doubt, create some real fireworks on the racecourse. His
aggressive tactics and razor sharp precision are known around the world.

'Plantation Furniture', the 40 foot 'bullet' will be on hand and will definitely add to the intense competition. This local high performance cat has had many impressive races
and this regatta will be no exception.

Joe Colpit, of the US Virgin Islands and winner of the 1998 St. Maarten Heineken multihull class will be intent on victory again aboard his St. Croix built trimaran 'Virgin
Fire'. He recently made his presence known with great performances at last years summer series in the USA. He is sure to give Laurent Bourgnon a very serious battle.

When you think of charter yachts, high performance racing capabilities do not come to mind, to say the least. But when the charter cat 'Avalon' enters the picture,
conventional wisdom goes right out the window! This amazing catamaran possesses great speeds and will again be among the top contenders.

Although somewhat outdated, 'Tryst' owned by St. Maarten's Pat Turner of Le Gallion, will definitely be in the hunt. Do not underestimate 'Tryst'. This very recognizable
red trimaran will surprise you with her speed and has taken her crew to prize giving ceremonies on numerous occasions.

The Multihull Class for the 2002 St. Maarten Heineken Regatta can be summed up in two words: blistering speed! To witness these large catamarans and trimarans reach
speeds as high as 30 knots is a sight to behold, indeed! 'Exciting' doesn't begin to describe these incredible racing machines.
