The 26th Tour de France à la Voile will commence from Dunkerque, France on June 29 2012.

The race then visits Dieppe, St Cast Le Guildo, Roscoff, Talmont St Hilaire, Rosès, Gruissan and concludes in La Seyne sur Mer on July 26.

The 15 teams have all arrived in Dunkerque ready for the start.

Two days before the prologue, the sailors and shore crew were making last minute adjustments ahead of the training session.

This is the M34’s second Tour de France à la Voile. The Tour welcomes both professionals and amateurs all with different approaches and rankings but with one ambition - to make an impression and sail well without regret.

Tu Delft’s Dutch creww for this edition is a 100% student team. It’s the first Tour de France for the young skipper Pieter Van Notten.

'We are pleased with our results this year and our training. We bounded as a group and we have good technical skills.' He laughs 'We’re just lacking speed!'

Daniel Souben, the experienced skipper of the local boat Courrier Dunkerque 3 smiled. His black and white M34 is the last one to go back into the water in the Commerce basin. 'Everything is getting organised,' commented Souben, quietly, his hands in his pockets.

The pressure is more tangible for the young crew of Region De Bruxelles – Capitale/Brussels Hoofstedelijk Gewest. Together with Bertrand Pacé, they now understand what they are in for… And the pressure is building.

The skippers will meet tonight for a first briefing.
