Superior Jetties, Queensland dealer for Sunstream Boat Lifts, will display the new Sunstream V-Lift for the first time in Australia at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, 24-27 May, 2012.

The V-Lift is the latest in Sunstream’s market-leading boatlift range. Launched in January this year, it won the US National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) Innovation Award at the 2012 Miami International Boat Show.

The V-Lift is a free-floating, compressed-air displacement boatlift that can operate in as little as 1m of water and in berths from 3m wide. Designed to be extremely fast, it can launch boats in as little as 75 seconds, lifting them again in two minutes.

Faster than twice the speed of existing air-displacement lifts on the market, the Sunstream V-Lift uses a quad-blower and electric valve system mounted directly on the tanks. Featuring four independent air tanks and Sunstream’s Tank Monitoring System (TMS), the air tanks will be filled automatically if a water-leak is detected.

Power is delivered through a low-draw DC system and options include solar and AC charging, eliminating the need for a power pack on the dock.

The dock-with-ease design provides automatic centring and secure drive-on support. The V-Lift operates with level lifting, meaning the boat doesn’t need to be secured to the boatlift when lifting or launching. Further design elements for simplicity include remote control operation.

With no hard-mounts required, the Sunstream V-Lift is entirely portable. It can be used almost anywhere a boat can be moored whether marina berth, private pontoon or swing mooring.

The V-Lift is designed to be assembled by customers within half an hour and requires no tools. It can also be expanded in capacity from 3000kg to 4950kg by simply adding another pair of air tanks.

Made from rotomoulded polyethylene, the V-Lift is built for long-term durability in both fresh and salt water. Leaks have been minimised, if not eradicated, by eliminating air hoses, which are considered the primary source of leaks in current air-displacement boatlifts.

Other Sunstream Boat Lift products on display at Sanctuary Cove will include FloatLift – free-floating hydraulic boatlift featuring solar charging and remote control; and SunPort2 – drive-on PWC lift.

A look at The Ocean Cleanup and its the 30 Cities Program The cliche goes that one should avoid meeting one's heroes, as there's always a chance that the flesh-and-blood person might not live up to expectations. While I've never met Boyan Slat, I'd gladly take this risk.
