10 Canadian Competitors Head to Optimist SA Championship 2012 Canadian Yachting
The Optimist South American Championship 2012 is being held in San Isidro, Argentina from March 29 to April 8.

The Club Náutico San Isidro is one of the key institutions when referring to the sports of sailing in Argentina. Located in San Isidro, a traditional sailing town to the North of Buenos Aires, the club has extensive facilities for the practice of sailing, as well as of other sports such as golf, tennis and swimming.

The premises take up an area of 150 hectares, of which 50 are on the Sarandí Island right at the mouth of the River Luján where it flows into the River Plate, where the main facilities are; 100 are on the Nazar Anchorena Island, across the river, with on-the-water boat parking, a restaurant and recreational areas with plenty of green.

The Club has a vast experience in the organization of large sailing events. Here we mention a few of the past championships held at the CNSI:

2001 - World Championship Soling

2005 - IODA South American Championship

2006 - Tornado Class South American Championship

2006 - Tornado Class World Championship

2007 - 29er World Championship

2008 - Center and South American Laser Championship - ALMA

The IODA South American Championship is organized by the Asociación Optimist Argentina in conjunction with the Club Náutico San Isidro with the endorsement of the Federación Argentina de Yachting under the authority of the International Optimist Dinghy Association (IODA).
